We noticed that many of our new 12d Synergy clients tend to be shocked to find out about our CAD integration. There seems to be an assumption that 12d Synergy is solely a 12d Model Management tool.
Some organisations have actually implemented 12d Synergy just for it’s CAD integration.
What to expect with 12d Synergy’s CAD management
Out of the box you can install CAD plugins for both AutoCAD and BricsCAD. These plugins provide ease of use and allow you to check in and check out DWG files and track X-Refs which are stored within 12d Synergy from your CAD Software.
12d Synergy will also provide a full version control, revision history and roll-back for all of your CAD files. When you check a drawing back in, 12d Synergy will take a snapshot of the time, who made the changes, and what changes were made. This provides a revision history of the drawing, and a full audit trail. At any point 12d Synergy will allow you to roll-back to a previous version of the DWG for piece of mind.
Flexibility for CAD users
The 12d Synergy team are very passionate about providing our clients with flexibility.
The remote access tool allows CAD users to check out, edit and check in any dwg, from any location, provided they have a network connection.
This is particularly beneficial when you are sharing dwg files with contractors, remotely based staff, working across multiple offices, or working on a JV project. The remote access tool can also be used to allow CAD users to collaborate and work on their drawings from home.
Without a network connection, you can still experience the flexibility 12d Synergy’s CAD management provides. By taking your files offline you can take your CAD drawings offsite/out of the office, once you return to the office 12d Synergy will synchronise your changes back to the master file.
You can find out more about our current integration with CAD software on our CAD Management page. We also have a range of further CAD features coming in 12d Synergy in Version 4.
